Introduction

Normal skin has a barrier which prevents bacteria, viruses and fungi getting into the skin and causing tissue damage. In normal skin there are natural defence mechanisms that can repair and regenerate damaged tissue. In eczema, the natural barrier is decomposed and symptoms such as redness, irritation, itching and scaling of the skin can occur.

By hand eczema, the barrier function is decreased and the upper layers of skin are irritated. The natural processes that normally repair and regenerate the skin cannot regenerate the barrier to counteract the irritation.

What is Astion Hand Cure for?
Astion Hand Cure is used by hand eczema, which is characterised by redness, dry and irritated skin. The skin changes by hand eczema usually consist of red areas and scaly patches. Typical symptoms of hand eczema are redness and itching. Astion Hand Cure treats and soothes these symptoms. Astion Hand Cure has been tested in several clinical tests and is well tolerated.

What does Astion Hand Cure contain?
Astion Hand Cure contains the patented active ingredient Dermadexin ®, a biolipid–niacin complex. This active complex combats irritation in the outermost skin layers. Together with the other ingredients of the cream, it builds up the skin’s natural barrier by forming a thin layer of film over the irritated skin so that water is kept back in the skin layers, which increases the stability of the skin barrier. The Dermadexin® complex performs a double function on the skin—it both soothes the itching and rebuilds the skin’s natural protective barrier.

Contents: Water, liquid paraffin, cetostearyl alcohol, glycerol, niacinamide, sodium cetostearyl sulphate, glyceryl monocaprylate and benzyl alcohol.

Before you use Astion Hand Cure
Astion Hand Cure is based on well-known, tested ingredients. Astion Hand Cure can be used on sore, red, scaly and irritated skin caused by hand eczema. Use of Astion Hand Cure has few, mild side-effects. During the first days of treatment, slight sweating and itching can occur as the skin is still sore and irritated.

Contact your doctor if:
– you are not sure what type of skin problem you have.
– your skin problem is not improved after 3 weeks of treatment.

Concomitant use of drugs: There are no known contraindications for the use of Astion Hand Cure in combination with known drugs.

When should you use Astion Hand Cure?
For the treatment of symptoms of hand eczema.

How to use Astion Hand Cure?
Wash your hands before using the cream. Apply the cream in a thin layer on the irritated skin twice a day, morning and evening. Spread the cream evenly. Continue with the treatment until the skin problem improves. In the clinical trials, the itching was usually improved over the course of 1–3 weeks of treatment. The treatment can be repeated if the symptoms return.

After treatment with Astion Hand Cure, it is recommended to use Astion Repair Cream 40% or 70% preventatively on the irritated skin. Astion Repair Cream contains the patented active ingredient Dermadexin® and prevents skin problems.

Astion Pharma Strengthens the Skin

Eczema can be a vicious downwards spiral where damaged skin is more prone to new outbreaks. It’s a cycle that Astion Pharma can help break.

The unique feature of Astion Pharma creams is the active substance Dermadexin®, which forms a thin, protective shield over the irritated skin. This Astion Pharma shield protects your skin from external elements and influences, such as infections. At the same time, the cream keeps up the skin’s natural moisture so that your eczema plagued skin does not dry out.

Ubeskyttet hud med eksem

Unprotected skin with eczema:
• If you have eczema, the skin’s natural barrier is broken.
• A broken skin barrier causes dry skin because the skin’s moisture evaporates.
• At the same time, the skin becomes susceptible to bacteria that cause inflammation, redness and itching.

Skin that’s protected against eczema:
• Astion Pharma protects the skin from outside influences, e.g. bacteria.
• Astion Pharma treats eczema and rebuilds the skin’s natural barrier.
• Astion Pharma also maintains the skin’s natural moisture so that the skin does not dry out.

Dermadexin® has Proven Efficacy
The effects of Astion Pharma products are clinically proven. The creams have been tested in a comprehensive, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicentre study of 400 patients in 7 countries: Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, UK, Sweden and Germany. All patients suffered from moderate to severe seborrheic dermatitis/eczema.
